Local Care Homes Enjoy VIP Experience At Widnes Vikings

Courtesy of Delivered Health Solutions (DHS) residents from three Halton care homes enjoyed a VIP experience with the Super League rugby league club Widnes Vikings.

Fifteen residents, family members and staff from Simonsfield Care Home, Halton View Care Home and Ferndale Mews Care Home were invited to the Vikings recent fixture against Hull FC by DHS, who were Executive Match Sponsors of the game. They enjoyed a special post-match meet and greet with Vikings stars, and exclusive behind-the-scenes access to the big game.

DHS are one of Britain’s leading suppliers of infection control and prevention products and services. The Widnes-based company provides specialist cleaning services to the social care sector, and chose to use its ticket allocation to reward people living in care homes and the staff that support them.

Their guests included many passionate Vikings fans, who have followed the Club for a lifetime. This included Roy Butler, who lives at Ferndale Mews Care Home and played for Widnes in the 1950’s.

Barbara Meeks, Managing Director of Delivered Health Solutions, says: “We were delighted to welcome our local care home community to the game as our special guests. At Delivered Health Solutions, we’re proud to support the social care sector. We were keen to use our tickets to give a special experience to people living in care homes and the dedicated people that enable them to lead full lives. It was fantastic to see how much they all enjoyed their day.”

She adds, “As a Widnes-based business, we’re thrilled to have partnered with our local rugby league club. The Vikings have been recognised for their great work in the community, including delivering award-winning projects that support care homes, so they are the perfect fit for our brand.”

Dave Rolt, Head of Commercial at Widnes Vikings, says: “Delivered Health Solutions idea of inviting local care home residents to the game was a fantastic gesture, and typifies our experience of them being a business with great values. It was brilliant to see how excited everyone was to be part of the game and meet our players. We’re looking forward to working on many more great projects with the company in the season ahead.”
